It’s on!
I originally intended the “on” meaning the test of the Phyn Plus 2nd Gen in the unfriendly testbed of metro Phoenix has started.
2nd Gen is very exciting with some very thoughtful upgrades!
But it could also mean it is actually on the house and powered up…’on’ in the sense that we actually installed the unit successfully following three trips to Home Depot to extend our outdoor electrical line because the new unit has a shorter electrical line.
Sigh.
Does anyone remember how much I love electrical?

How to Replace Electrical Wiring
While my posts are starting to sound more like a recipe blog with the drawn out story upfront, I’m still going to throw this out there: I’m pretty sure my manual transmission car can drive itself to either Home Depot we live in between because in this post-COVID era no single store can have everything you need! The third trip was due to a lack of a few missing key components for putting the conduit together. You know, the things you “always” have until you realize you don’t.
Buuuuut speaking of manual transmissions–think KITT from Knight Rider–this is a must see if you are a Knight Rider fan.
I’m 99% sure both Brian and I mentioned Knight Rider the first time we saw Phyn Plus as we walked away from the Phyn booth at the International Builder Show in 2019. Despite the choice of blue on the LED screen, you can’t help but think “KITT”.
Well, now Phyn is officially the KITT of water monitors.
…or is it more Mandalorian?
Can’t wait to see how Phyn Plus 2nd Gen does in the desert this summer.
I’m still keeping my 1st Gen below my pillow…under the bed.
Such a skeptical engineer. 😉
I have to give Phyn a big thanks. They took a risk and sent me the 1st Gen review unit when I only had 100 subscribers and my YouTube style was quite a bit different to put it kindly. I’m very excited to see what they have planned and to continue to share real results with you all here on blog and YouTube channel.

Hmmm. Do you think KITT would run on today’s E10 Unleaded or would it require some form of premium ethanol free juice?

I don’t know, but it’d be fun to drive!
