This week my hubby, our girls and I are taking our version of vacation at the 75th International Builder’s Show in Las Vegas. We are totally stoked to check out the leading edge on home building techniques, products, and, most importantly, people.
Without continuous learning and improvement we can’t serve you, our trusting customer and reader, best: to give you all the options and best home possible.
I’ve heard there are other things to do in Las Vegas…
We might be doing it wrong (according to the vast majority of people who frequent Las Vegas), but we are building nerds. I more than double booked us for almost every time slot between 7:30-5 with classes on all three days of the show.
Days 1 and 2 were exciting, liberating (thank you so much for flying in to take care of the girls for the show, Aunt Lisa!), and exhausting.
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves with some teaser descriptions. We’ll certainly be going into more depth as we use them in our upcoming builds:
The new line of led lights offered by Eaton will change the way we do pot lights.
Uponor now offers a whole house monitoring system, Phyn. If there is as much of a drop coming out of your pipes, you’ll know it!
We all learned something new about Schluter products as well as a few tiling techniques. I now want to go out and practice lifting tile by back buttering it!
We were thrilled to catch more than just a glimpse Mike Holmes…
Along with some of the new Schluter finishes. Metal shelving makes a bathtub and shower install even simpler and faster.
Day 2, we had a chance to chat with Matt Risinger, who through his weekly video blog, introduced us to another friendly face local to our builds out in the Dickinson area, David Yelovich.
Dr. Lstiburek had us chuckling with nerdy home building humor during his talk on insulation and air tight homes.
We look forward to learning more from him.
Next week I’ll share our final day highlights before we return to our venture into plumbing…
First thought upon reading headline: I can’t believe they have a conference for people with irritable bowel syndrome. Poor little lambs. 😉
Ha!
Sounds like a busy and exciting time
Totally! It was insane. Way too much for just three days.
I totally have all my steps…for our entire team! Seriously.
